Yes, everything is included in the price you agree to when booking. You pay for the rental of canoes, sea kayaks, touring kayaks and motorboats, as well as any optional extras and extras such as car transport and cancellation.
However, there are some taxes that we cannot include in our prices.
If you are sailing through Silkeborg Harbour, and therefore also have to pass through the Kammerslusen lock, it costs DKK 25 per boat. Kammerslusen is close to us at Silkeborg Harbour, and the fee is paid at the Lock Kiosk when you pass through. The fee must be paid if you are continuing north of Silkeborg Harbour, or if you are sailing from the north and heading south after Silkeborg.
If you're staying overnight during your trip, you'll need to pay accommodation fees to the place you're staying at. We've compiled a complete list of prices for all accommodation along the Gudenåen river, so you can easily find out what your stay will cost.
*Please note that accommodation fees are included in the price of our Family Packages, Family Packages (smaller children) and Luxury Packages.
You can be a maximum of 3 people - or 2 people and 2 small children (max. 35kg per child). Of course, 2 people in a canoe is optimal, especially on multi-day trips where you need extra space for luggage. Make sure to limit luggage the more people in the canoe. The limitation of the number of people in a canoe is not due to their weight, because a canoe can carry up to 400kg, but the more people in a canoe, the more unsafe the canoe becomes due to live ballast.
The canoe/kayak will be ready with the bottom up with paddles and vests underneath, as well as any additional equipment. At the end of the canoe/kayak there is a plastic pocket with a delivery note with your information on it. A map of the Gudenås system is also enclosed.
If you start your trip from Silkeborg Harbour, you will be given the canoe/kayak after contacting our staff. We open at 9.00 am every day of the season. See opening hours here.
From the remaining starting points along Gudenåen, you can see how early you can pick up your canoe/kayak under the booking section. If you want a different start time than the options shown, you can write it in the comments field when booking.
The canoe/kayak must arrive at the final destination by 16:00, 17:00 or 20:00 at the latest. The time depends on the final destination, and the latest end time for the tour in question will be given to you when you book the tour. If you want a different end time, please write in the comments field.
Yes, you can always contact us by phone: +45 86 80 30 03 no later than 12.00 noon on the last day of your sailing and inform us of the change. If you have already chosen an optional final destination when booking, the same procedure applies.
However, it is not possible to change the final destination if you have booked car transport.
There is firewood at these campsites: Åle, Klostermølle, Gammel Rye, Ry / Skimminghøj, Alling Vest, De Små Fisk, Sminge and Kjællinghøl. Bring an axe as the firewood is 3 metres long in some places. The other accommodations along Gudenåen are not guaranteed firewood - check our info about accommodations.
Yes, there is. On the northern stretch, from Klostermølle to Randers, there are no sailing restrictions and you can sail from sunrise to sunset. We have the first customers on this route from March.
On the southern stretch, from Tørring to Klostermølle, there is a limited number of canoes/kayaks allowed to sail during the day, which requires an access sign, which is included in the price when you book with us. In addition, sailing is limited to the period 8.00-18.00, and sailing is only allowed on the southern stretch from 16 June to 31 December. Due to the restrictions on the southern part of Gudenåen, the price for sailing is higher than on the northern stretch.
We can take care of transporting your car to your final destination read more. Alternatively, you can arrange your own lift, extra car, taxi, Flextrafik or public transport.
Yes, you can easily do that. Contact us about this in advance and arrange when the gift card can be picked up at Silkeborg Harbour. We can also do this by email or phone and send you the gift voucher via PostNord.
